The Seventh Plague by John Martin (1823)
Listen To The Scripture Portion
Overview
In this week’s Torah portion we are looking at Exodus 6:2–9:35
The Lord reveals Himself to Moses.
We learn about God’s four ‘I Wills’ of Exodus 6 and how they have come to be related to the four cups of the Passover Seder.
Moses and Aaron repeatedly come before Pharaoh to demand in the name of theLord,
“Let My people go, so that they may serve Me in the wilderness.”
Pharaoh repeatedly refuses.
Aaron’s staff turns into a serpent and swallows the magic sticks of the Egyptian sorcerers.
God then sends a series of 10 plagues upon the Egyptians. We will be looking on more detail at the first seven.
Still, “the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he would not let the children of Israel go, just as the Lord had said to Moses.”
